Lone Star Park near Dallas will open its simulcast facility on Friday, according to a statement from track president Scott Wells. Lone Star also will launch its race meet Friday, with a nine-race card that starts at 3 p.m. Central. Below is the full statement from Wells:
"Lone Star Park’s 2020 Thoroughbred Racing season will begin Friday, May 22. At this time, racing operations will be conducted with no spectators.
"Bar & Book [the simulcast facility] will reopen Friday, May 22 at 10:30 a.m. with occupancy limited to 25 percent capacity and all appropriate physical distancing measures in place.
"The health and safety of our patrons and employees continues to be our top priority. We continue to monitor closely all Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines and public health advancements, and we have implemented operational procedures and protocols throughout Bar & Book."
