The multiple stakes winners Mocito Rojo and Pioneer Spirit will clash in the $75,000 Governor's Cup, the opening night feature Friday at Remington Park. The track drew entries Tuesday and 94 horses were entered for the nine-race program, according to the overnight. First post is 7:07 p.m. Central.
Mocito Rojo, who won last year's Governor's Cup, will break from post 2 in the field of 9. Luis Quinonez has the mount for trainer Shane Wilson.
Pioneer Spirit will start from post 5. Ramon Vazquez has the mount for trainer Robertino Diodoro.
Others making up the field include Hunka Burning Love, to be ridden by David Cabrera; Chris and Dave, to be ridden by Sophie Doyle; Sheriff Brown, to be ridden by Stewart Elliott; and Vangilder, to be ridden by apprentice Keith Asmussen.
