Whistle Stop Cafe sets Day 1 standard for All American Futurity

Whistle Stop Cafe was the fastest qualifier for the $3 million All American Futurity on Day 1 of trials Friday at Ruidoso Downs. A second card of 16 trials for the All American Futurity will be run Saturday, with a first post of 11 a.m. Mountain. The horses with the five fastest times from each card secure a spot in the starting gate for the Grade 1 finale next month at Ruidoso.

Whistle Stop Cafe won her 440-yard trial in 21.61 seconds, one start after capturing the Grade 1 Rainbow Futurity at Ruidooso. She is undefeated in five career starts. The other qualifers from Day 1 were Jetzz, 21.62; Famous And Easy, 21.65; Flash Bak, 21.66 and Calienta Caramelo, 21.70.

The qualifiers and times are according to a Twitter post by Ruidoso Downs.
