Delta Downs in Vinton, La., sent out at text notice that its upcoming Thoroughbred meet has been postponed until further notice due to damage sustained in Hurricane Laura. The storm hit Wednesday night. Delta had completed its Quarter Horse meet last Saturday and on Tuesday called for evacuation of the property in advance of the storm. There was a mandatory evacuation in place for Vinton, which is located about 30 miles from Lake Charles, La., which received significant damage from Hurricane Laura.
