With the recent defections of MUCHO GUSTO (retired) and CHARLATAN (headed for Saudi Cup) from the prospective lineup for the $3 million Pegasus World Cup, Gulfstream Park racing officials have issued updated invitation lists for the Pegasus and the $1 million Pegasus Turf, both to be run Jan. 23.

MATH WIZARD and KING GUILLERMO are now in the main body of 12 for the Pegasus, with INDEPENDENCE HALL and COASTAL DEFENSE being added onto an also-eligibles list that also includes IDOL. At least one of those AEs can be expected to make the race, given that SHARP SAMURAI has been removed from the Pegasus roster when expected to defect in the coming days.
