Jockey Joe Talamo tested positive for COVID-19 on Friday morning and will be off his mounts for the opening day card and likely through Feb. 4, according to his agent, Jake Romans.
The rider is not ill, said Romans.
"He's totally fine," Romans said. "He doesn't have any symptoms."
Romans said Talamo, who recently rode at Fair Grounds, had tetsed negative on Monday. A rapid test Friday morning came back positive. Officials will follow up with him, but at this point he is scheduled to be out through Feb. 4.
