The Great One, second by a nose in the Grade 2 Los Alamitos Futurity on Dec. 19, won a maiden special weight race at a mile by a remarkable 14 lengths in Saturday's second race.

Ridden by Abel Cedillo, The Great One ($5.20) was timed in 1:37.28. The Great One stalked even-money favorite Fenway to the turn before taking command of the race.

Affable (2-1) finished second, 11 1-2 lengths in front of 24-1 There Goes Harvard. Fenway, a $650,000 yearling purchase trained by Bob Baffert, faded from contention in early stretch and was beaten 29 1-2 lengths in a field of four.
