Jennifer Hoyt, the longtime media relations manager for Oaklawn Park, has been promoted to director of racing for the Hot Springs, Ark., track, Oaklawn announced Wednesday. 

Hoyt has been the media relations manager for the past 10 years and will continue to serve in that role during live race meets at Oaklawn. In her director of racing role, she will be "responsible for the promotion, planning and success of Oaklawn's live racing product." 

"Jennifer’s passion for horse racing is second to none,” Jason Milligan, vice president for racing at Oaklawn, said in a press release.  “She has numerous contacts with horsemen and owners within the industry and I am excited for her and the future of Oaklawn.”    

Hoyt is looking forward to the new opportunity at Oaklawn. 

“I couldn’t have written up a more perfect role for myself,” she said in a press release. “This really is my dream job. I’m excited to be even more involved with the racing program, while also continuing to promote Oaklawn’s races to fans across the country.”

Hoyt is a 25-year veteran of the racing industry, and has held various positions at Arlington Park, Churchill Downs, Gulfstream Park, Lone Star Park and Turfway Park. She also has served on notes teams for the Kentucky Derby, Breeders' Cup and Dubai World Cup. She works with Thoroughbred aftercare causes and with her family lives in Hot Springs.
