Karl Broberg reached a milestone of 4,000 training wins on Friday night, when Baudette Blizzard won the sixth race at Prairie Meadows. The trainer had horses racing at multiple venues, and the Twitter accounts of both Broberg and Prairie Meadows pointed to the win as the milestone victory. Broberg had at least one other winner after the milestone Friday night, bringing his total to 4,001.
Baudette Blizzard ($11.20) stalked the pace in third in the $5,000 conditioned claiming sprint, came three wide into the stretch, and ran down the leader for a head win under Elvin Gonzalez. Broberg also is the owner of Baudette Blizzard, through his stable End Zone Athletics. It was the second win on the card for Broberg. He also won races Friday at Lone Star Park and Evangeline Downs.
