Rushing Fall, the exciting winner of the Grade 3 Jessamine Stakes at Keeneland on Oct. 11, drew post 11 in a field of 14 in Friday's Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf at Del Mar, the first race on the first day of the Breeders' Cup races.
While the post may be farther to the outside than preferred, Rushing Fall (11) races from off the pace and can be effective even though the race drew a field of 14.
The draw did not help Best Performance (1), who was second in the Grade 3 Miss Grillo Stakes at Belmont Park on Oct. 1, or Happily (2), the two-time Group 1 winner in Ireland and France. Both will need fortunate trips from the inside, particularly Happily who has enough speed to be stalk the pace.
Juliet Capulet (13) will be need to be quick to gain her typical position near the front despite an outside post.
Other runners such as Ultima D (5), Capla Temptress (7), Significant Form (8) and Fatale Bere (9) are favorably drawn for their styles of racing.
