The lone grass race, the fifth, has been moved to the Tapeta. There are no turf races in the final condition book that encompasses the last two weeks of the meet, which wraps up Dec. 10.
It's a cool/cloudy day, with a west wind, for the 10-race card.
Moonlit Promise is the 6-5 morning line favorite in the G2 Bessarabian Stakes. She's aiming for her third straight stakes victory, but there are other legitimate contenders in the seven-furlong sprint.
Sister Nation defeated 3yo fillies last out Oct. 8 in the Ruling Angel Stakes, and has been pointed towards this important event ever since. She's a good fit from a Beyer perspective, as is Minks Aprise, who rallied for second behind Moonlit Promise in the G3 Ontario Fashion Oct. 28. Minks Aprise finished just a neck back in third in last year's Bessarabian.
Scotty's Model is unbeaten in three allowance/optional claimers races since returning from a long layoff in September, and shouldn't be regarded lightly in the Bessarabian. She's sent out by trainer Norm McKnight, who has a host of live runners on the card. McKnight's three wins yesterday gave him 86 for the meet, which put him four behind leader Mark Casse.
The Jackpot Hi 5 carryover is $75K.
Morning line favorite Glenville Gardens is scratched from the ninth.
