The multiple stakes winner Mrs McDougal (1) has been withdrawn from Sunday's Grade 1 Matriarch Stakes after she grabbed a quarter during morning exercise, trainer Richard Mandella said.

Mandella said the incident occured Sunday morning at Del Mar when Mrs McDougal was leaving the track and going back to the barn. Mrs McDougal was 15-1 on the morning line for the $300,000 Matriarch Stakes for fillies and mares at a mile on turf.

Her absence leaves a field of 11 led by Cambodia (7) and Kitten's Roar (12).
