After finishing second on the heavily favored Conqueror in Friday's first race, jockey Kent Desormeaux squeaked out a win in the second race on another strong favorite - Bedeviled ($3.40). The margin was only a nose.

In both races, Desormeaux saved ground and reached contention by closing between runners more than a furlong from the wire. Conqueror looked like a winner in the stretch of the first race, but finished a half-length behind Quality Line ($9.20).

Bedeviled appeared to have the second race at his mercy in early stretch, but was challenged to the line by 2-1 Trustworthy.

Desormeaux does not ride the third race, but will be a focus for bettors in the fourth. He rides Wild Edie (6), a 5-2 chance on the morning-line.
