The comebacking Hopeful winner Sporting Chance had his first five-eighths move Monday at Oaklawn. He went in 1:00.40, according to the track's head clocker, Jim Hamilton.
Temperatures are in the 60s on Monday and the track is fast.
Sporting Chance was accompanied by a pony as he backtracked to the sixteenth pole. He went into his work at the five-eighths pole, and Hamilton caught his final quarter in 23.40 seconds and galloping out six furlongs in 1:13.60.
Sporting Chance is gearing up for his first start since winning the Hopeful in September at Saratoga.
