Coach Rocks, who had won her maiden race in front-running fashion, overcome a slow break and being shuffled back on the far turn to rally down the middle of the track to run down Take Charge Paula and win the Grade 2 $300,000 Gulfstream Park Oaks udne Luis Saez.
The win was worth 100 points toward the Kentucky Oaks on May 4 at Churchill Downs.
Take Charge Paula, part of an early pace battle with Eight Thirtyone and Alter Moon, opened up a sizeable margin turing for home but could not hold off the late foot of Coach Rocks. Coach Rocks is a daughter of Oxbow owned by Roddy Valente, Rick Pitino and West Point Thoroughbreds.
Princess Warrior finished third followed by the maiden Tell Your Mama.
Coach Rocks returned $7.60 as the 5-2 second choice.
The final time for the 1 1-16 miles was 1:44.63
