Married by Now ($46) outfinished 7-2 Radish to win a maiden race at 1 1-8 miles on turf for California-bred fillies and mares in Sunday's fourth race by a neck.
The fourth race was the first leg of a $2 pick six that drew a solid pool of $326,468.
South Boot Shirley, the 3-1 favorite, did not finish. She stumbled badly at the start and was eased in early stretch by jockey Kent Desormeaux. South Boot Shirley was walked off the racetrack.
Married by Now had her third race on Sunday. Trained by Matt Chew, Married by Now finished sixth in a maiden race at a mile on the main track on March 11, but was declared a non-starter after the stewards conducted an inquiry and ruled that the filly was in the hands of an assistant starter when the gates opened.
