Nine races at Aqueduct this afternoon beginning at 1:20 ET and only three of them are on the main track.
That's right; six turf races - three on each course. We are fast & firm and there is a carryover in the pick six of $17,485.
The two stakes are both on turf. The Plenty of Grace goes as Race #3. It is for older fillies and mares over a mile on the outer turf and has a field of five.
Race #8 is the Bridgetown, also on the outer turf, for 3yo sprinters.
Spot Plays
Race 4:
#2 The Caretaker
- Has returned to form as a 4yo, after losing his way last summer.
- Wound up far off the pace last time after some bumping at the start, before making a good wide run around the turf and finishing gamely.
- May be facing a vulnerable favorite in this race.
7/2 on ML.
Race 8:
#2 Barbarossa
- Blew away maidens impressively on turf last fall at Belmont.
- Did not have the best of trips while always caught in behind his front-running stablemate last time.
- Think the six-furlong distance of this race is better for him.
3/1 on ML.
Race 9:
#4 Reversethedecision
- Was away from the gate poorly in her GP debut, and raced very greenly thereafter.
- Still managed to come with a game late run in that race, despite not appearing to have it all figured out.
- One of two in the field for Chad Brown, who is off to a hot start at the Spring Meet.
3/1 on ML.
