A wide/closing Machtree caught the front-running Inge in deep stretch to prevail in the $100K Wando Stakes, but Inge got the win by disqualification.
Machtree drifted in during the stretch run, impeding Tale of Vienna, who bothered Titochip. After a long inquiry, Machtree was disqualified from first to fifth, and Tale of Vienna was demoted from third to fourth.
Inge ($10.60) was ridden by Gary Boulanger for owner Bruno Schickedanz and trainer Norm McKnight, who claimed him for $40K last fall.
The final time for the mile and a sixteenth was 1:44.62
