A half-mile workout Saturday morning at Santa Anita was all Bolt d’Oro needed, apparently, before he ships Monday to Churchill Downs for the Kentucky Derby. Working at 7:45 a.m. under Victor Espinoza, who will ride him for the first time in the Derby, Bolt d’Oro worked in :48.20.

Bolt d’Oro, owned and trained by Mick Ruis, has won four of six and earned $1,016,000. He finished second to Justify last time out in the Santa Anita Derby. Full report later at drf.com.
