Explorer, a $1.25 million purchase as a 2-year-old in-training last year, recorded a dazzling win in his debut in Friday's sixth race for maidens.
Ridden by Drayden Van Dyke, Explorer disputed the early pace and took a clear lead on the turn. Explorer won by four lengths over 9-1 Flagstaff, finishing six furlongs in 1:10.48.
Explorer, by Orb, is owned by the Roth family's LNJ Foxwoods and NK Racing and trained by Bob Baffert.
