Redy Ruby proved an easy winner of the Grade 3, $300,000 Delaware Oaks, forging to the lead entering the far turn of the 1 1/6-mile race under Paco Lopez and pulling away to win by 13 lengths. Although she drifted out in the stretch, Lopez handled her smartly and it was not a problem.
Coach Rocks chased the winner home to be clearly second best.
The top two finished in the same order in their last start, the Grade 2 Black-Eyed Susan.
Red Ruby paid $3.20 and was timed in 1:42 2/5.
Early in the week, trainer Kellyn Gorder said he would consider the Grade 1 Alabama as a possible next start for Red Ruby, who is now four for six.
