Reride, who was entered in Friday's $100,000 Curlin Stakes, was re-routed to Saturday's Grade 2, $600,000 Jim Dandy Stakes, bringing the field to that Travers prep to five and making Friday's Curlin also a five-horse field.
Hofburg, who would have been favored for the Jim Dandy, was not entered and will stay in the Curlin. Simply put, trainer Bill Mott wants the easiest race to have Hofburg ready for the Travers. He feels the Curlin is the easies path.
Reride can make more money for finishing fifth in the Jim Dandy than he could for finishing second in the Curlin.
The Jim Dandy field, not yet drawn, is: Flameaway, Reride, Sporting Chance, Tenfold and Vino Rosso.
Trainer Dale Romans, who has about a half-dozen 3-year-olds in his care, elected to enter one _ Promises Fulfilled _ in Saturday's Grade 3, $200,000 Amsterdam for sprinters. He originally had three targeted for that race, but said Cove Blue suffered a minor setback and Seven Trumpets will train up to the Grade 1 H. Allen Jerkens.
Other stakes fields, again not yet drawn:
G1 Alfred G. Vanderbilt: Done Deal, Imperial Hint, Mr. Crow, Petrov, Sweetontheladies, Switzerland and Warrior's Club.
G3 Amsterdam: Barry Lee, Engage, Old Time Revival, Promises Fulfilled, Soutache, Strike Power, World of Trouble.
G2 Bowling Green: Bigger Picture, Channel Maker, Glorious Empire, Hi Happy, Highland Sky, Manitoulin, Money Multiplier, Sadler's Joy and Sarrasin.
