Tyfosha had a rough start to her summer campaign in Sunday's sixth race, an allowance race with a $40,000 claiming option for fillies and mares at 6 1-2 furlongs.
In her first start outside of her age group, the 3-year-old Tyfosha broke through the gate before the start. She was reloaded and started without incident, racing near the front through the first half-mile. Tyfosha was challenged in early stretch and faded to finish fifth behind the 3-year-old Spring Lily ($15.80).
Sunday's race was the first for Tyfosha since a seventh in the Grade 1 Ashland Stakes at Keeneland in April.
