Good Magic, the Haskell winner and likely Travers favorite, worked five furlongs by himself in 1:00.76 over Saratoga’s main track Friday morning.
Good Magic, who hooked up early in the work with an Eric Guillot-trained runner, went his opening quarter in 24.79 seconds, three furlongs in 36.17 and got his last quarter in 24.59. He galloped out six furlongs in 1:14.02 and seven furlongs in 1:28.32.
Vino Rosso, working with 2017 Belmont Stakes winner Tapwrit, went a half-mile in 48.97 seconds, getting his last quarter in 24.00 while galloping out five furlongs in 1:01.41 and six furlongs in 1:13.94, drawing away from Tapwrit on the last eighth of the gallop out.
Vino Rosso, who had John Velazquez up, did not work in blinkers in the work.
