Accelerate will be pointed to the Awesome Again at Santa Anita on Sept. 29 as his final prep for the Breeders' Cup Classic on Nov. 3, trainer John Sadler said Sunday morning at Del Mar, the day after Accelerate's tour de force in the Pacific Classic.
"That's been the plan," said Sadler, who said he was gratified to see Accelerate continue to hold his form by running big figures without going backwards. He got a Beyer Speed Figure of 115 in the Pacific Classic, a career best.
"He ran a really good number in the Gold Cup," Sadler said, referring to his previous start. "He didn't regress."
