High North is being pointed for the Grade 3, $300,000 Super Derby on Sept. 2 at Louisiana Downs, according to his trainer, Brad Cox. 

Cox won last year's Super Derby with Mr Misunderstood. 

High North won the Iowa Derby in July and in his most recent start Aug. 4 was third in the Grade 3 West Virginia Derby at Mountaineer. Earlier this year, the horse won the Northern Spur at Oaklawn. High North races for Shortleaf Stable. 

Cox said Tuesday that Florent Geroux has the mount in the Super Derby.
