Good Magic, the champion 2-year-old male of 2017, drew post 9 and was installed as the 2-1 morning-line favorite for Saturday's Grade 1, $1.25 million Travers Stakes at Saratoga.
Good Magic, the Kentucky Derby runner-up who most recently won the Grade 1 Haskell Invitational, is trained by Chad Brown and will be ridden by Jose Ortiz. Brown also trains the Travers second-morning line chioce at 4-1 in Belmont Stakes runner-up Gronkowski, who will be ridden by Joel Rosario.
Wonder Gadot, who will try to become the first filly to win the Travers since Lady Rotha in 1915, drew post 2 and was made the 5-1 third choice. The last filly to compete in the Travers was Davona Dale in 1979. Wonder Gadot, as a filly, carries 121 pounds, five fewer than the males.
The Travers will go as the 11th race on a 13-race card and is scheduled to go postward at 5:44 p.m.
