Ninth Street ($17.20) overtook leader Pickett on the final turn of the $50,000 Jean Lafitte on Saturday night and went on to a six-length win over Shotsoft in the 2-year-old stakes at Delta Downs. 

Jockey Alexander Castillo was thrown in the stretch when mount Dixieland Grand fell. The rider got up and walked to the ambulance, it was announced at Delta. No official word yet on condition of Dixieland Grand, who was vanned off, according to the chart from Equibase.

Ninth Street covered seven furlongs around two turns in 1:27.86. Diego Saenz was aboard for H.V. Farms and trainer Steve Asmussen.
