Uno Mas Modelo, who overcame a horrendous start to register an impossible victory in the Claiming Crown Rapid Transit, had a lot less trouble defeating similar starter allowance opposition in the Perseus Starter Stakes, readily wearing down Whyruawesome en route to an easy and popular win as the 3-5 favorite. The victory was the second in succession for jockey Javier Castellano, who won the previous race aboard Baffin Bay.
