Bricks and Mortar is a very serious turf horse. I was on record stating that during and after his 3-year-old season in 2017, and he gave additional reason for holding that belief after his dominating score just now in the inaugural Pegasus World Cup Turf.
That said, let's not get too far ahead of ourselves here. This Pegasus Turf was a $7 million race in name only. It was not a $7 million race in terms of overall quality of field, or degree of difficulty. It will be another very disappointing year for the male turf division this year if Bricks and Mortar isn't required to dispatch a stronger group in the months ahead, and asked to do so in a race with a fraction of the Pegasus Turf purse.
