The top California-based handicap horse will ship Tuesday to Churchill Downs, where he will start as one of the favorites Saturday in the Grade 2, $600,000 Stephen Foster.

Gift Box, winner of the Grade 1 Santa Anita Handicap and runner-up in the Grade 1 Gold Cup his most recent start, worked five furlongs Sunday morning at Santa Anita in 1:00.40.

Hronis Racing owns Gift Box; he is trained by John Sadler. The decision to ship Gift Box to Churchill Downs allows Hronis-Sadler runner Catalina Cruiser to start unopposed by a stablemate in the Grade 2 San Diego Handicap on July 20 at Del Mar.
