Trainer J.R. Caldwell will be looking for his fifth 2-year-old winner of the Lone Star Park meet on Sunday, when he sends out Flat Precious (2) and Lone Star Lady (4) in the second race, a maiden special weight for 2-year-old fillies. Other high points on the card, expected to be conducted under clear skies and with a fast main track and a firm turf course, include:
RACE 3: Perfect to Please (2), a three-time stakes winner, makes his second start in two months in an optional $40,000 claiming race at five-eighths on the grass. His rivals include Zoot Suit, a winner of his last two starts who goes for trainer Karl Broberg, a winner of three races Saturday at Lone Star.
RACE 4: Sugarlicious (3) returns to sprinting on the main track for a conditioned allowance for fillies and mares.
RACE 7: Santino (10) is the one to beat in a conditioned turf allowance for fillies and mares at a miile, but she must overcome post 10. The field includes stakes winner Silvercents, who makes her turf debut in what will be her first out since December. Her dam has produced a three-time turf winner.
RACE 8: The millionaire Rise Up (5) goes for the Lone Star Park Racing Club and Caldwell in an optional $20,000 claiming sprint. He must deal with Redneck Attack, who was second last out in a key race.
RACE 9: Hawaiian Typhoon (1) goes in a maiden special weight for fillies and mares at a mile on turf. She is a half-sister to Pacific Typhoon, a multiple stakes winner who flirted with the course record for this distance ast season at Lone Star. Both runners are trained by Veronica Griggs.
