Evangeline Downs in Opelousas, La., will be off the turf Friday night, according to a notice from the track. The feature, the $50,000 Opelousas, was scheduled for the grass. 

Evangeline Downs canceled after the fifth race Thursday night due to the weather. The track also has called off races for Saturday night due to a severe weather forecast. There is tropical storm in the Gulf of Mexico. There will be no training Saturday morning at Evangeline, according to a notice issued Friday.
