Santa Anita has a Rainbow jackpot element to the 50-cent super high five at the current autumn meeting, which began on Friday. The bet is available on races with seven or more runners, and was hit for the first time at the meeting in Sunday's fourth race, when a single ticket was worth $32,441.
In Sunday's first race, the Rainbow super high five paid $257.10 from a pool of $4,494. Because there were multiple winners of the bet, there was a carryover of $28,239 going into the fourth race, the next race that had at least seven runners.
In the fourth race, Carpe Noctem ($3.60) edged 16-1 Shootin Money, who was followed by 5-1 Nietzsche, 15-1 Golden Victory and 4-1 Dream Palace in a field of eight.
The bet will be offered on the final two races on Sunday's eight-race card.
