Thursday’s eight-race card at Aqueduct was canceled due to a forecast for high winds, the New York Racing Association announced Thursday morning.
According to The National Weather Service, the winds Thursday afternoon in Ozone Park are expected to be between 23 and 29 miles-per-hour with wind gusts as high as 39 miles-per-hour.
This is the second cancellation of the month due to winds. The Feb. 7 card was also canceled. There have been three cards canceled since the winter meet began on Dec. 12.
Aqueduct was to remain open for simulcasting Thursday. Live racing is expected to resume on Friday with first post at 1:20 p.m.
