Tony Patterson, a longtime racing official, has been hired as the racing secretary for Lone Star Park, the track announced Wednesday morning. He begins his duties Aug. 3.
Patterson will work both the Thoroughbred and Quarter Horse meets for Lone Star. He is a past director of racing and racing secretary for Remington Park, now the sister track of Lone Star. In more recent times, he served as the executive director of the Louisiana Quarter Horse Breeders' Association.
Remington's officials have been overseeing the racing office this meet after Bart Lang, the track's longtime director of racing, decided to leave his position.
Lone Star concludes its current Thoroughbred meet Aug. 12.
