Sam Houston Race Park in Houston opens its meet Friday night with spectators allowed at the races, full fields, and a $51,876 carryover in the jackpot pick six. First post is 6:45 p.m. Central.
Frank Hopf, senior director of racing operations for Sam Houston, said masks will be required for those attending the races. He also said the track has made some changes in the grandstand to make for social distancing requirements, such as addressing betting machines and seating.
