Call Me Love, at 3-1, surged between horses to win a three-way battle to the wire in the featured eighth race Sunday at Belmont Park. Miss Teheran was second and pacesetter Bacchanalia was third. Junior Alvarado was aboard the winner for R. Unicorn Stable and trainer Christophe Clement.
Call Me Love ($8.90) tracked the pace along the rail in the allowance as Bacchanalia set fractions of 23.17 for the opening quarter, 48.28 for the half-mile and 1:11.92 for six furlongs. The eventual winner was angled off the rail in the stretch and went on to cover the mile and a sixteenth over the inner turf course rated firm in 1:41.08.
